The average salary of a psychiatrist lies upwards of a $215,000 a year. In order to get there though, one needs a medical degree.

Industrial/Organizational Psychologist

However, the chances of being hired by a good company increase if one has a doctorate. Work is almost always done in a corporate setting, with the average annual salary just a bit north of $100,000. However, those that do scientific research may earn almost $150,000 a year.

Neuropsychologist


Neuropsychologists, who earn an average of $90,500 a year, are also quite in demand. They work at colleges, hospitals, research centers, mental health centers, and the like, to perform different types of tests, brain scans, and other tasks related to neuropsychology, John Denboer PhD adds.
